The migration situation of women is a complex social phenomenon that has transformed over the decades, marked not only by the increase of women in migration flows—a phenomenon called the feminization of migration—but also by the gender and racial dynamics that shape their mobility, work opportunities, and access to rights.

It is within this context that the e-book “Leadership in Motion: Strategies and Tools for the Empowerment of Migrant Women” was created. This work is an initiative of E-Conexão Global, a movement organized by migrant, stateless, and refugee women that seeks to expand the participation of this group in decision-making spaces through technology, knowledge, and political action.

Developed in partnership with Mawon and UN Women, the publication aims to go beyond telling these women’s stories of resistance and struggle, proposing strategies and outlining paths for them to take on leadership roles, transforming the challenges they face—such as migration regularization, language barriers, and access to healthcare—into public policies. Our involvement reinforces Mawon’s commitment to social justice and the socioeconomic integration of migrants.
